Just last week, I attended a funeral of a wonderful man, who was an academic I had the pleasure to meet and know over the last 12 plus years.
During the service, David's favourite quote was read;
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

It's my experience, and I find it sad at many funerals, we learn some incredible things about the person we never knew. In life, David was a man that inspired me, he was someone that gave you something profound in every conversation. Yesterday I felt sure he won't mind me adopting his favourite quote.
My programs are about authenticity, we are best as ourselves, we offer our best, work our best, play our best and it's a much healthier way to live.
